Role
My role involved providing leadership and direction to the IoT and Data team, as well as adopting a hands-on approach in problem solving, development and deployment of technologies for farming operations.
Product Management x Agri-tech
As a product manager at NXTLVL Farms, my team and I built technologies to solve challenges we face at the farm, such as:
- AIoT-enabled Hydroponic Environmental Monitoring & Control System, in collaboration with IoT Engineering team
- Pest Detection with Integrated Messaging to Alert farm hands on-site when a harmful pest is detected
- Software Development, Data Management & Cloud Migration to a Centralized Data Warehouse to improve data integrity and overall data quality, worked with Software Engineering team
- Yield Forecast using nutrient and dose-response analysis, in collaboration with in-house agronomist & Chemical engineer
- Topic Modelling & Sentiment Analysis on Customer Messages, in collaboration with Marketing team
In addition, I worked with academic institutions from all over Metro Manila, Los Baños and Taiwan to ideate and build protoytpes for the following technologies:
- Neural Networks for Plant Health and Disease Classification
- Novel Seeding Machine that results in significant increase in seeding precision and a decrease in required manhours at the farm
- Insect Classification using Pressure-sensitive Devices & Frequency Detectors
- Improvement of Plant Growth through Lighting Control (PAR adjustments) and rack layout re-arrangement
